Everything you need to know about a visa to Ghana

A brief overview of the process and the most important documents.

General information about Ghana visa

Most nationalities need a visa to travel to Ghana. Unlike many other African countries, Ghana does not offer an e-visa or eTA. The application is made through the Ghana embassy and you must submit your original passport as part of the process.

The most common type is the tourist visa (single entry) which allows you to stay for up to 90 days. There is also a business visa for professional visits such as meetings, conferences and business negotiations.

Processing time is longer than for electronic visas, typically 3 to 4 weeks. We recommend applying at least 6 weeks before your planned departure. With our VIP service, the process can be expedited to approximately 2 weeks.
