General information about Thailand visas
Swedish citizens can stay in Thailand for up to 60 days without a visa for tourist purposes. From 1 May 2025, however, the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) is required for all travellers.
For longer stays there are several visa types: tourist visa (single/multiple entry), 90-day visa, 10-year visa for retirees 50+, work visa, business visa, student visa and family visa.
You generally need a valid passport, photo and flight booking. For certain visa types you will also need a hotel booking, invitation letter or financial proof. Thai authorities require that documents are complete and correct.

Do I need a visa for Thailand?
Swedish citizens can stay in Thailand for up to 60 days without a visa for tourist purposes. From 1 May 2025, the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) is required for all travellers regardless of the length of stay.
For stays longer than 60 days, work, studies or other purposes a visa is required. This also applies if you plan to extend your stay while in Thailand.

How does the application process work?
You start by choosing the right visa type (TDAC, tourist visa, work visa etc.) and filling in your basic details. You then upload a passport copy, photo and the documents relevant to your visa type.
We review everything before the application is submitted, and if anything is missing we contact you directly. Once complete, we submit the application to the Thai authority and you receive ongoing updates by email.
What is required for a tourist visa?
For a tourist visa (single entry or multiple entry) you need a valid passport with at least 6 months validity, passport photo, application form, flight booking and hotel booking.
A single entry visa allows a 60 day stay. The days start counting when you land in Thailand. A multiple entry visa is valid for 6 months and allows multiple entries, but each stay may be a maximum of 60 days.
You also need to show proof of funds such as a bank statement or pay slip showing you can cover the cost of the trip.
What is required for a work visa?
For a work visa you need a valid passport, passport photo, application form and an invitation letter from your employer in Thailand. The letter must include the job title, salary, employment period and other relevant details.
You also need a Letter of Approval from the Thai Ministry of Labor. Your employer in Thailand applies for this document (Form WP3). A valid work permit may also be required if you have previously worked in Thailand.
What is required for a business visa?
For a business visa you need a valid passport, passport photo, application form and an invitation letter from the Thai company you are visiting. The letter must state the job title, dates, salary and purpose of the visit.
You also need a letter from your current employer in Sweden stating your position, start date and salary. A copy of the signatory's ID or passport from the Thai company, information about your business partner in Thailand and a copy of the Thai company's registration certificate are also required.
