How it works for USA

Swedish citizens can travel to the USA without a visa for up to 90 days with ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization). But ESTA is not for everyone. Travel to certain countries after 2011, previous refusals or overstay can disqualify you. Then a tourist visa B2 or business visa B1 with an embassy interview in Stockholm is required. Is English translation needed?

For ESTA or the visa application, translation of Swedish documents is normally not required. DS-160 is filled in English. The invitation or admission letter should be in English. If you have Swedish documents to be used in the USA after entry (e.g. for work or studies), authorized translation may be needed separately.
