When do you need an apostille for Denmark?

When Swedish public documents must be shown to Danish authorities, universities, employers or companies, an apostille often certifies authenticity. Because both Sweden and Denmark are Hague members, embassy legalisation is not required.

Who orders?

Individuals moving, studying or working in Denmark, and companies presenting Swedish documents to Danish counterparts.

FAQ | apostille for Denmark

Do I need embassy legalisation for Denmark?
No. Denmark is a Hague Convention member, so an apostille is enough. Embassy or MFA legalisation is normally not required.
Must the document be translated first?
Notarius Publicus does not require a translation for the apostille. Danish recipients often require an authorized Danish translation. We can combine both.
What do I send in?
Original documents plus a copy of your passport ID page. Private documents (e.g. powers of attorney) may need notarisation before apostille.
How long does it take?
Basic typically takes a few business days. Priority and VIP are faster when Notarius Publicus has capacity.
