Forms are in Estonian; English sometimes works in e-services but rarely on original papers. We apostille Swedish originals via Notarius Publicus and translate with Kammarkollegiet-authorized Estonian. A document issued in Estonia is apostilled there via a notary, not by us. How a Swedish original reaches Estonia

1 Find out who the recipient is

Rahvastikuregister, EMTA, ENIC/NARIC or kinnistusraamat sends a checklist. The embassy on Triewaldsgränd is rarely on it.
2 Order the right Swedish original

Skatteverket, a court or a school issues the paper. Copies rarely suffice for nostrification or a property purchase.
3 Translate into Estonian if needed

ENIC/NARIC and most omavalitsused want authorized Estonian. Kammarkollegiet.
4 Notarise powers of attorney before apostille

If a notar in Tallinn or Tartu is to act for you, the power of attorney must be attested by Notarius Publicus in Sweden first.
5 Apostille and tracked return

Notarius Publicus adds the apostille. You get the original (and translation) back, ready for submission in Estonia.

Estonia accepts Hague apostille on Swedish originals. Basic from SEK 1,595 per document. Embassy legalisation via the MFA is not required for EMTA, ENIC/NARIC or Rahvastikuregister.

No. They help Estonian citizens with passports, ID cards and e-residency. Apostille on Swedish originals is done by Notarius Publicus in Sweden.

Do I need Finnish instead of Estonian?

No. Estonian and Finnish are separate Kammarkollegiet authorizations. EMTA and Rahvastikuregister want Estonian.

I already have an apostille – is English enough?

Sometimes for e-services, rarely on originals. ENIC/NARIC and many omavalitsused read Estonian. Apostille proves authenticity; translation makes the content readable.
