Correct path

The right path for Georgia

Public Service Hall, NAPR and NCEQE in Tbilisi, Batumi or Kutaisi want proof the Swedish original is genuine. Apostille is issued by Notarius Publicus in Sweden. Forms are in Georgian in Mkhedruli. The embassy in Stockholm handles passports and consular work, not apostille.

Overview

How it works for Georgia

Georgian authorities think in Public Service Hall and NAPR: birth and marriage certificates against the Public Service Development Agency (PSDA), the ID card via the Justice House, RS (rs.ge) and a TIN for tax, NCEQE for recognition of foreign degrees, NAPR for cadastre and companies. Forms are in Georgian in Mkhedruli; Russian, Armenian and Azerbaijani rarely suffice on originals. We apostille Swedish originals via Notarius Publicus and translate with Kammarkollegiet-authorized Georgian. A document issued in Georgia is apostilled there via PSDA or NCEQE (e-apostille via my.gov.ge). This is the document chain, not an e-visa.

When needed

When do Georgian recipients want apostille?

The contact usually comes from Public Service Hall, NAPR, NCEQE, RS or a notary – not from the embassy at Holländargatan 23:

  • Birth or marriage certificate must enter Public Service Hall after a move to Tbilisi
  • TIN papers toward RS and rs.ge
  • Recognition of a Swedish degree via NCEQE, not a loose copy
  • Flat purchase – extracts for NAPR in Batumi or Kutaisi
  • Company papers for NAPR in Tbilisi
  • Mindobiloba for an agent before a notary in Tbilisi

How a Swedish original reaches Georgia

The usual chain from review to return. Collapse a step if you want less.

  1. 1 Find out who the recipient is

Public Service Hall, NAPR, NCEQE or RS sends a checklist. The embassy at Holländargatan 23 is rarely on it. An e-visa is not on that list.

  2. 2 Order the right Swedish original

Skatteverket, a court or a school issues the document. Copies rarely suffice for NCEQE or a purchase toward NAPR.

  3. 3 Translate into Georgian if needed

Public Service Hall and most NCEQE files want authorized Georgian. Kammarkollegiet.

  4. 4 Notarise a mindobiloba before apostille

If a notary in Tbilisi or Batumi is to act for you, the power of attorney must be attested by Notarius Publicus in Sweden first.

  5. 5 Apostille and tracked return

Notarius Publicus adds the apostille. You get the original (and the translation) back, ready for filing in Georgia.

Important

Apostille for Georgia

Georgia has been in the Hague Convention since 2007. Apostille via Notarius Publicus replaces MFA and the embassy at Holländargatan 23. Apostille for Georgia starts from SEK 1,595 in Basic.

Translation, timing and embassy

Why Georgian is usually needed

Public Service Hall and NCEQE rarely accept unprocessed Swedish. Authorized Georgian from a Kammarkollegiet translator is its own step, not Russian. From SEK 1,495 for a standard document. Translation plus apostille from SEK 1,895.

Timeline for Public Service Hall, NAPR or NCEQE

Apostille usually takes a few business days. Add time for Georgian and any notarisation. The total depends on:

  • whether the mindobiloba must be notarised first
  • whether authorized Georgian must run in parallel
  • processing at Notarius Publicus
  • the NCEQE queue toward the education authority
Georgian Embassy vs apostille

The embassy at Holländargatan 23 handles passports and consular work. Apostille for Public Service Hall is done by Notarius Publicus in Sweden. Not Sveavägen 76. An e-visa is a different product.

  • Apostille for ordinary legalisation to Georgia
  • Notarisation of a mindobiloba before apostille
  • Authorized Georgian translation
  • Notarius Publicus for Swedish public documents

FAQ

Can the embassy at Holländargatan 23 apostille for me?
No. Georgia takes apostille via Notarius Publicus in Sweden. Holländargatan 23 handles passports and consular work. That is Vasastan, not Armenia at Sveavägen 76.
Do I need Russian or Armenian instead of Georgian?
No. Russian and Armenian are separate Kammarkollegiet authorizations. Public Service Hall and NCEQE want Georgian in Mkhedruli, not Azerbaijani.
Is an e-visa enough as a document stamp?
No. An e-visa is entry. Public Service Hall, NAPR and NCEQE want apostille on the document. We do not sell a Georgian visa here.
