Swedish originals are apostilled by Notarius Publicus. Mexican originals are apostilled by SEGOB if they are federal, and by the state’s gobernación if they were issued there. The embassy in Stockholm renews passports and states that Swedish papers are apostilled in Sweden. Spanish toward Registro Civil, SAT and SEP: authorized translation from Kammarkollegiet. Some recipients want a perito traductor in Mexico. Residencia temporal at INM is residence.

How it works for Mexico

CURP and RFC get mixed up in almost every file toward Mexico. CURP is assigned via RENAPO and follows the acta from the oficialía of Registro Civil. SAT issues RFC when you file tax, invoice or register a company. The acta is printed in the estado where the event must stand, for example Jalisco or CDMX; there is no federal population office that takes it for the whole country. SEP via DGP revalidates a foreign degree against Mexican level. Purchases and a poder notarial go through a notario público toward Registro Público de la Propiedad. Swedish originals are apostilled by Notarius Publicus. Mexican originals are apostilled by SEGOB if they are federal, and by the state’s gobernación if the oficialía issued them. The form is Spanish; Kammarkollegiet authorization often suffices, but some oficialías want a perito traductor on site.

When does Registro Civil or SAT require apostille?

The request sits with the oficialía of Registro Civil, SAT or SEP. Typical files:

1 Which state – and is it SAT or SEP?

The acta goes to Registro Civil in the receiving estado. RFC to SAT. Degree revalidación to SEP / DGP. INM does not take apostille as a substitute for residencia.
2 Order the original in Sweden

A personal extract from Skatteverket, a diploma from the university. Registro Civil and SAT rarely take a screenshot.
3 Spanish – Kammarkollegiet here, perito traductor sometimes there

Authorized Spanish from Kammarkollegiet. Some oficialías or notarios want a perito traductor in Mexico. Ask the recipient before you assume the Kammarkollegiet text alone will suffice.
4 A poder notarial is attested in Sweden

If a notario público in CDMX is buying for you, Notarius Publicus attests the poder here. A Mexican notario does not stamp that Swedish power of attorney.
5 Apostille here, SEGOB or the state there

Notarius Publicus puts apostille on Swedish papers. SEGOB apostilles federal Mexican originals; the state’s gobernación takes state-issued ones. You send to Registro Civil, SAT or SEP.

Registro Civil and SAT rarely take unprocessed Swedish. Authorized Spanish from Kammarkollegiet from SEK 1,495. Translation plus apostille from SEK 1,895. A perito traductor in Mexico is a separate step if the oficialía asks for it.

Is Kammarkollegiet Spanish enough, or do I need a perito traductor?

Is the INM card enough instead of apostille?

No. Residencia temporal and permanente are residence. Registro Civil, SAT and SEP want apostille on the document.
