How it works for Pakistan

Pakistani authorities think in the CNIC and two civil-status tracks: a Union Council issues birth and marriage certificates, NADRA issues the B-Form/CRC and CNIC/NICOP. HEC assesses university degrees, not a BISE board alone. FBR NTN and IRIS for tax, SECP for companies, a Board of Revenue for land. Forms are in Urdu in Nastaliq; Hindi in Devanagari, Punjabi and English-only rarely suffice on originals. We apostille Swedish originals via Notarius Publicus and translate with Kammarkollegiet-authorized Urdu. A document issued in Pakistan is apostilled there.mofa.gov.pk (Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Quetta, Peshawar, Gujrat). This is the document chain, not an e-visa.

How a Swedish original reaches Pakistan

1 Find out who the recipient is

NADRA, a Union Council, HEC or FBR sends a checklist. The embassy at Karlavägen 65 is rarely on it. An e-visa is not on that list.
2 Order the right Swedish original

Skatteverket, a court or a school issues the document. Copies rarely suffice for a Board of Revenue or a purchase toward SECP.
3 Translate into Urdu if needed

A Union Council and most HEC files want authorized Urdu in Nastaliq. Kammarkollegiet.
4 Notarise a mukhtar-nama before apostille

If a notary in Lahore or Karachi is to act for you, the power of attorney must be attested by Notarius Publicus in Sweden first.
5 Apostille and tracked return

Notarius Publicus adds the apostille. You get the original (and the translation) back, ready for filing in Pakistan.mofa.gov.pk, which only covers Pakistani originals.

Pakistan accepts Hague apostille on Swedish originals. Basic from SEK 1,595 per document. Embassy legalisation via the MFA is not required for NADRA, HEC or FBR.

FAQ

Can the embassy at Karlavägen 65 apostille for me?

No. They help Pakistani citizens with passports, NICOP and consular work. Apostille on Swedish originals is done by Notarius Publicus in Sweden. That is Karlavägen 65, not Bulgaria’s 29.

Do I need Hindi or Punjabi instead of Urdu?

No. Hindi in Devanagari is India’s Kammarkollegiet language. Urdu in Nastaliq is Pakistan’s. Punjabi is a different language. A Union Council and HEC want Urdu, not Hindi.

I already have an apostille – is English enough for NADRA?

Sometimes in the e-queue, rarely on the original. A Union Council and HEC read Urdu. Apostille proves authenticity; translation makes the content readable. An e-visa is not the step.
