Which paper to send
An examensbevis shows that you graduated. A betyg lists the courses and the grades. A university abroad almost always asks for both. If the school gave you a Diploma Supplement, it can travel with them. Send the letter from the office, and we will say which papers it actually names.
The letter rarely says examensbevis. Degree certificate and diploma mean the examensbevis. Transcript of records means the betyg. A Diploma Supplement is the European annex, often already in English. The same case can hold all three, but each paper is translated on its own.
The diploma comes from the school, municipal adult education, a higher vocational college, or the university. It is not a personbevis from Skatteverket, and it is not a police extract.
We do not decide whether the degree is enough. The office that asked for it does. We put the language and the stamp on the paper the school already issued.
Send the paper original. The apostille sits on each original they want stamped, not on the translation. If they want both the diploma and the transcript stamped, that is two originals.
A laminated diploma usually cannot take an apostille, because the stamp will not sit on the plastic. Ask the school for a new original. A PDF you print at home is a copy, and the copy is the wrong paper.
