1 Which canton is receiving?

Zürich, Bern and Basel run German toward Zivilstandsamt, AHV and the commercial register. Geneva’s office de l’état civil usually takes French. The SEM permit says nothing about the language on the document.
2 Order the original in Sweden

A personal extract from Skatteverket, a diploma from the university. swissuniversities and a Notar toward Grundbuchamt rarely take a copy from email.
3 German in most cantons, French in Geneva

Authorized German toward Infostar and AHV (the same Kammarkollegiet authorization as toward Germany, but the file does not go to ZAB). French when Geneva asks for it.
4 A Vollmacht is attested in Sweden

If a Notar in Bern is buying for you, Notarius Publicus attests the Vollmacht here. A Swiss Notar does not stamp that Swedish power of attorney.
5 Apostille here, the canton’s Staatskanzlei there

Notarius Publicus puts apostille on Swedish papers. Staatskanzlei apostilles Swiss originals. You send to Zivilstandsamt, Ausgleichskasse or a Notar.

Can the embassy in Stockholm apostille for me?

Not Swedish originals. They renew passports. Apostille for Infostar, AHV and Zefix is done by Notarius Publicus. The canton’s Staatskanzlei apostilles Swiss documents.

Should I translate into German or French?

Zürich, Bern, Basel: authorized German (the same authorization as toward Germany). Geneva and much of Romandy: usually French. Ask Zivilstandsamt in the receiving canton.

Is permit B enough instead of apostille?

No. Permit B and C are SEM residence. Infostar, Ausgleichskasse and swissuniversities want apostille on the document.
